The business development team works with you and your clients to achieve successful outcomes and growth. Their job is to create and develop long-term partnerships with financial advisers, licensees, consultants, research houses and other organisations. Stewart Pender

Head of Business Development
Stewart brings a wealth of knowledge to his role at CareSuper, with more than 14 years’ experience in business development within insurance and financial services. He thrives on developing and nurturing partnerships with external businesses, bringing additional benefits for our members. He’s worked in a variety of roles including National Account Manager at AIA Australia and Business Development Manager at Macquarie Group and Asteron. Most recently Stewart was Head of Partnership Management at MLC Life Insurance.

Stewart holds a Bachelor of Business (Management) from Monash University, a Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and has won several industry recognised awards. Outside of work, you’ll find Stewart hitting the trails on his mountain bike, having a round of golf with his mates or spending time with his two young children.

Stacey Mitchell

Business Development Manager – Advice (VIC/TAS/SA/WA)
Stacey is passionate about partnering with advice businesses to drive sustainable business growth. She brings a wealth of knowledge to her role at CareSuper, with more than 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry working in practice development, adviser coaching and compliance roles.

Stacey builds positive relationships with advisers, providing them with tailored services so they can deliver excellent professional financial advice — ultimately helping our members achieve their financial goals.

Stacey holds an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services, Certificate IV in Mortgage Broking and a Bachelor of Arts. Outside of work, Stacey is an avid hiker (Everest Base Camp has been her favourite so far), a fitness fanatic, and loves finding new places for Sunday brunch.

Gordon McNaught

Business Development Manager – Advice (NSW/ACT/QLD/NT)
Gordon’s drive to demonstrate how super can make a difference in the lives of Australians is backed by more than 30 years’ experience in financial services. Over this time Gordon has witnessed a lot of change, which has taught him to maintain a consistent approach and develop tailored solutions for financial adviser and member needs. Prior to joining CareSuper, Gordon was a Senior Consultant (Partner Education) at MLC Life Insurance and in 2018 was part of the contributing team at Asteron Life, which won the AFA Life Company of the Year award for “The Sophisticated Adviser” education program in the Risk Product Innovation category.

Gordon’s communication and coaching experience comes in handy, allowing him to take complex concepts and easily explain them in everyday language. He holds an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services.

Outside of work you can find Gordon with a guitar and singing it up at his local church. Gordon one day aims to walk the Great Wall of China and travel to Egypt to see the pyramids. He is also a proud White Ribbon Community Partner.

Mark Patman

Business Development Manager
Mark helps our partners successfully navigate the many challenges businesses face in achieving their goals. Mark is self-motivated, resourceful and insightful, and builds trusted relationships with his clients. He draws from a wealth of knowledge and experience to provide solutions that fit individual client needs.

Mark has been with CareSuper for more than 17 years helping our members and has worked in the financial services industry for more than 22 years. As well as his professional experience, Mark is qualified with an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Superannuation) and an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning.

Outside of work, Mark enjoys gardening, house renovations, bonsai and slow-cook barbecuing.

Tara Lombardi

Business Development Manager
Tara is dedicated to working closely with our partners to uncover innovative ways of working together.

Passionate about the role super plays in helping us achieve our ideal retirement lifestyle, Tara works hard to educate employers and members about their superannuation arrangements and the importance of being with the right fund.

Tara has completed RG146 training and has over 10 years’ experience in senior account management roles.

Outside of work, Tara enjoys travelling and broadening her linguistic horizons. She’d like to one day travel to Scandinavia and Antarctica.
