Financial advice

Financial advice

I chose financial freedom by 50. I’m almost 29.
Let’s plan a date for you.

If you’re interested in taking control of your finances, seeking advice through your super fund can be a great option.

Our financial advice model aligns with our profit for members philosophy, meaning our planners receive no incentives to sell you advice.

This page sets out the different types of advice available to you through CareSuper.

Advice that’s covered as part of your membership

Advice over the phone*

As a CareSuper member you have access to financial advice over the phone as part of your membership.

Are you:

  • Weighing up your investment choices?
  • Thinking about adding to your super?
  • Looking for clarity on insurance?
  • Curious about how much you can afford to spend in retirement?

Our planners are here to give you guidance on certain super-related topics – whether you’re after general super information or a more personalised look at your account – at no extra cost to you. To speak with a planner, simply book a call-back today.

Advice that costs extra

Comprehensive advice^

If your concerns are broader than super or your financial situation is more complex, you may benefit from meeting with a planner for comprehensive advice.

Either face-to-face or via Skype, your comprehensive planner will consider your whole financial situation, including any assets you have outside super, your debts and your financial goals.

The fees for comprehensive advice depend on the services you’d like your planner to help you with. We’ll let you know our fees up front during the first appointment and provide a quote for services going forward. If you have over $3,500 in your account, you can nominate to have the fee for super-related advice deducted from your account, up to a maximum of $1,500 per year.

To learn more about comprehensive advice, book a call-back with a financial planner today.

Complex advice

In some circumstances, such as when you need holistic advice or you’re dealing with intricate financial arrangements, your comprehensive planner may recommend complex advice. This is an external service, so you’ll be referred on after meeting with your comprehensive planner.

Complex advise covers topics like:

  • Estate planning
  • SMSFs
  • Direct equities
  • Aged care.
If you already have an adviser you trust, we’ll help them help you.
What’s important to us is that you receive quality advice. We’ll provide non-CareSuper financial planners with a variety of tools and resources if you’ve approved them as your nominated adviser. Here’s where they can go if they want to know more.
