Timm Byrne

Financial Planner – NSW
‘I’m the second generation of Byrne financial planners. It’s in the blood.’

Timm wants the CareSuper members he works with to be able to live each day to the fullest. He believes great financial advice isn’t about what you have, but what you plan to do with it.

Timm focuses on asking members a range of ‘why’ and ‘what if’ questions to fully understand their financial situation, needs and goals. From there he uses his knowledge of super strategies, like contribution methods and investment choices, to help members build an effective plan for the future.

Timm started his career in 2008, and is experienced across a wide range of financial planning areas. He holds an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning and is studying a Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Planning).

A singer-songwriter, Timm’s a vocal advocate for collaboration – both in a jam session, or in bouncing strategy ideas back and forth with colleagues and clients. On the weekends you’ll find him running along the coast, at a gig with friends, or hanging out with his wife and pug Baxter on the beach.

Kael Chen

Financial Planner – NSW
‘I speak three languages. Four, if you count finance.’

Kael’s driving goal is to see CareSuper members walk out of his office and into a clearer, more certain future.

He achieves this by connecting members with the financial options that match their post-work plans, whether that’s a tailored contribution strategy or finding the right retirement method to pave the way. And with over five years’ experience in the industry, he’s confident he can help members understand the difference planning ahead will have for their peace of mind.

Kael worked in banking before learning about industry funds and their values, at which point he made the move. He holds a Bachelor of Mathematics and Finance and is studying to be a Certified Financial Planner. Plus, he’s capable of servicing a more global audience of clients: he’s fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.

Outside of work, Kael applies his ethics of discipline and teamwork to his hobbies. He’s a keen tennis player (who practices every weekend) and a piano player.
