With CareSuper’s ASX 200 option you can invest your super in any of the top 200 companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange, utilising the services of Macquarie Equities Limited, one of Australia’s top stockbroking companies.

Whether you’re an experienced share trader or would like to be but never had the spare cash, the ASX 200 option makes it easy to buy and sell shares in Australian companies.

Who is eligible for the ASX 200 option?

  • To invest in this option, you must have a CareSuper account balance of $10,000 or more

How much can I invest?

  • You can invest up to 50% of your existing account balance in this option
  • No more than 20% of your balance may be invested in a single stock
  • You must purchase at least $1500 worth of shares

What if I don’t know much about the stock market?

  • Stock market analysis* and information* will be available on CareSuper MemberOnline, supplied by Macquarie Equities Limited:

    A regular Macquarie online bulletin, noting recent market action, changes in indices and stock recommendations according to outlook
    A monthly report with stock market analysis and an emphasis on Australian stocks

  • A wealth of information, including free online classes, is available on the Australian Stock Exchange website: asx.com.au

  • Read financial journals and the financial pages of newspapers to keep abreast of the stock market

  • Download the annual reports from the websites of companies in which you would like to invest

How do I buy and sell shares?

  • Before changing your investments, you should consult an independent financial adviser and read the CareSuper Investment guide
  • It’s easy to buy and sell shares using MemberOnline (call the CareSuperLine for your password if you haven’t done this before or register online by clicking the link in the top right). The 'Buy/Sell Shares' link on the investment page will guide you through. If you’re having any trouble, feel free to ring the CareSuperLine on 1300 360 149 for help
  • Alternatively, you can complete the form at the back of the Investment Guide and mail or fax it to us

What fees are involved?

A simple, low fee structure for this option covers the additional administration costs of this option

  • CareSuper’s administration fee:

    $52 will be deducted from your account each year.
  • Macquarie Equity’s brokerage fees:
